About

me.jpg

I started painting in 2004 shortly after a near head-on collision with a large truck. I still carry a small photo of the mangled car in my wallet as a memento (mori). I am inspired by mist, the moon and stormy weather. For me landscape painting is more than a literal representation of the land, sea and sky. When I paint I feel better about the world. My paintings are the result of time spent walking and enjoying nature. I don't paint in-situ or for from photographs. I am inspired and influenced by a range of artists, in particular; J. M. W. Turner, Caspar David Friedrich and James Abbott Whistler
